If you are caught between the Canon S90 and the Ricoh GRD III, here is one more item that may be of help in your decision - which43.com is spotlighting the high points of each camera.
For more on each camera, and most of the other RAWsumers, be sure to check their list of reviews at the Compact Reviews Organizer.
We are not quite sure what to make this, other than two reviews posted at the same time in the same article :) Digital Versus via Tom's Guide have published their Canon S90 review which also includes attached to it a review of the Nikon S1000pj [reviews] which is not a RAWsumer (that's the camera with the built-in projector).

The reviews continue to arrive for the Canon G11, the latest one comes from Bob Atkins. This is a multi-page review from one of the trusted veteran online reviewers! As usual, we won't spoil their findings here :)
There's plenty more G11 reviews to check out if you are interested. You can find them all at the Review Organizer, which now includes all the RAWsumers that have review-clusters. Please note that not all RAWsumers have a review-cluster (yet).
In terms of availability, as you can see from the stock status page, the best price is $439 with free shipping and handling from Amazon and B&H Photo. Both include free 2nd-day shipping if you are looking to buy this as a gift.

If you are curious and interested in the Leica X1 but don't want to hand them over $2000 to get it, there is another option - you could be the winner of the Leica Connections contest at Digital Camera Info. Entries are accepted until December 25, 2009. Currently there are 100+ entries. Considering the prize, you have a much better chance at winning this than the lottery :)
The Canon S90 got on their radar, and as a result, Tech Radar has published a review of the Canon S90. This is a short five-page review, of the tech-site variety. Do not expect dpreview-style geekalia :)
For more reviews, be sure to check the list of S90 reviews at the Compact Review Organizer which includes most of the RAWsumers.
In terms of availability, the camera is around $400 just about everywhere as you can see from its stock status page, however, some retailers are creating bundles with some freebies while keeping the price steady at $400. One such example is Beach Camera on Amazon.

Sigma's "fast-paced" launch of new products sometimes makes us forget they actually release them eventually ;-) One such case is the Sigma DP1s, but now the camera is getting more real. Neutral Day has posted some early first impressions and samples. Stay tuned for more updates in the future. The first impressions are towards the bottom of the page.
One more review is in the books for the Ricoh GRD III, this one published at fotomaf (spanish). It includes a guest-appearance by Yoda :) [via Foto Actualidad]
For more, be sure to check the list of GRD III reviews at the Compact Reviews Organizer.

DXoMark went deep inside the labs and came out with a new block of test results, including two RAWsumers, the Canon G11 and the Canon S90. This is based on RAW data coming out of the sensor. You can compare and contrast the results of any camera tested for your edutainment :)
Please keep in mind however that these test-results alone do not tell the ...whole picture.

In addition to all the Canon S90 reviews we mentioned yesterday, there is one more review coming out right now at Register Hardware. This is a multiple short-page review style. Intra-camera ISO comparison is on page #5.
The S90 is shipping from many places at $400 as you can see the stock status matrix.
For the RAWsumer-related updates posted on the other noisy blogs, be sure to check the right-sidebar of this blog - we have the headlines from both the main blog and the camera deals blog. This new design helps us by eliminating duplication of postings, which means we have more time to discover new news and develop other features and things like that.

When we came up with the RAWsumer idea, things were simpler. The Ricoh GXR system did not exist to muddy the waters. At the time, the thought of such a system was considered a wild forum fan-addict fantasy :)
So now with GXR and Micro Four Thirds and other systems coming up, it is time to distill the RAWsumer definition - for the purposes of this blog.
After some soul-searching, we decided to continue to use RAWsumer to refer to single-unit sealed cameras that support RAW natively. For example, cameras like the Canon G10, Panasonic LX3, Sony R1, Minolta A2, etc. This is regardless of camera size, as long as the camera is a single, self-contained body.
What is not a RAWsumer? Everything else :) So, the Ricoh GXR system, Micro 4/3rds, Samsung NX series, DSLRs, IL rangefinders, all those and similar things are not RAWsumer.
This is just one of the many groupings and classifications out there. For example, Serious Compacts, refers to cameras that can produce serious photography with a compact size, regardless of fixed or removable lens or sensor. Others, like Mason Resnick at the ALC blog, use the system compacts classification. Others call them "advanced compacts" which may be based on price + feature-sets. And on, and on, and on...

Ctein chimes in with a new update on the never-ending debate of whether small compact cameras (a lot of which are RAWsumers) can be used and can be taken seriously for serious photographic work. Read on to see what he wrote and join the debate over there...
