RAWsumer causes a Traffic Jam!

Traffic Jam is a new website that picks up the most popular posts in the Blog Rush network. Check the Blog Rush widget in the right column of this blog for more details on the Blog Rush widget. Traffic Jam picks up the most clicked stories and groups them together by categories and areas of interest.

And the top ten of the Photography category of Traffic Jam is where our blog post discussing the official Sigma samples from Japan found itself in!

For more on the Sigma DP1, be sure to check the Sigma DP1 mania tag at 1001 Noisy, the mothership blog of this blog :) There are currently 11 posts on the DP1 there.

More Sigma DP1 Sample Pictures (Review Test Pictures)

Imaging Resource has just posted sample test pictures taken with the Sigma DP1, in anticipation of their upcoming review. Here are the test pictures and here is IR's Sigma DP1 preview page.

The even better news is that this means that there will be a review of the DP1 posted by Imaging Resource, one of the top review sites out there. This is good news indeed!

As far as the sample pictures themselves? We don't want to introduce bias into this, so we'll leave it up to you to analyze the pictures.

But if you don't want to analyze the pictures, you can see the comments and discussions about them in the Sigma dpreview forum.

Interested in the Sigma DP1? You can pre-order it at Amazon for the list price of $800, with a pre-order and 30-day post-shipment price guarantee by Amazon itself. You can also take a look at the different accessories available, from an extra battery, to the external viewfinder, and such.

Ricoh GX100 prices are tempting!

The Ricoh GX100 is now offered at even more tempting prices by Adorama! The universal law of electronics is that the lower the price, the more is forgiven about a particular device. So what may have looked as an okay purchase at $800, could look like a steal at $400. Remember the classic example of the Olympus C2100-UZ (the UZi) which became a cult-icon superzoom when its price dropped below a certain level.

So what are the current prices of the GX100 at Adorama? The GX100 without the external viewfinder kit is offered at just $440, which is about the same price as the Canon G9. The version with the external viewfinder costs an extra $100 ($550).

And for those who like more, the bang for the buck package at $570 includes the GX100, the viewfinder, free case, free hood, and bonus battery.

If you are not familiar with the GX100, be sure to check a number of reviews of this model. We have collected them all at the Power Compacts Review Matrix.

Ricoh GRD II reviewed by DC Resource

We have a new review of great RAWsumer interest! The GRD II review by DC Resource has been posted! Find out what Jeff Keller found out!

As always, we won't be revealing the outcome of the review! You have to explore it yourselves :) We do have to point out that this camera can also take AAA batteries, in addition to the LiIon battery that comes with it. And remember, what a reviewer thinks is just the reviewers opinion. Different people have different priorities, and a single review cannot tailor the review for each individual reader.

And speaking of reviews, we recently launched the Power Compacts Review Matrix at 1001 Noisy, which includes a number of RAWsumers.

The GRD II is available for purchase at Adorama for $700.
