We last did a RAWsumer Charts snapshot in mid-April. Two months later, let's take a snapshot of the top selling RAWsumers at Amazon! These are "extracted" from the Hot 100 top selling digital cameras.
|-||1||Canon G9||$460 J&R World|
|-||2||Panasonic FZ18K||$304 via 3rd party|
|-||3||Olympus SP570uz||$392 via 3rd party|
Sadly, that's all in the top 100! Available RAWsumers but not in the Top 100 include the Panasonic LX2 (LX2K and LX2S) which has actually being going up in price, along with the Fuji S100fd, S9600/S9100 and S9500/S9000, and Panasonic FZ50 and FZ8, and Olympus SP-560uz superzooms, and the Ricoh GX100 and GRD II and I. The Casio EX-F1 is not sold online, so you are not going to see it in this list until or unless Casio "discovers" the internet again :)
So far this year we only had four new ones. Gone are the glory days of RAWsumers where we had more than a dozen new ones per year. And of those four in 2008 one had already been announced in 2006 (Sigma DP1). Of course with Photokina 2008 on the horizon (less than 100 days away), there is hope, since companies traditionally save some of their bigger announcements for Photokina-time. So there is a glimmer of hope!
