New feature: The RAWsumer Charts!

Regular readers of the Noisy blog our familiar with our Camera Charts feature. We are now expanding that feature here at the RAWsumer blog for the second time :) The first attempt was in October 2007 :)

What is this?
We take a snapshot of the Amazon Top 100 best selling cameras, and rank all the RAWsumers. A RAWsumer is a fixed-lens digital camera that supports RAW natively. By that we mean that it supports RAW out of the box or via a manufacturer's firmware update. The only camera we can recall that fits the latter is the Nikon 5400 (or was it the 5000?). By using this definition, we exclude CHDK cameras, which we consider quasi-RAWsumers :)

Please keep in mind that each one is a snapshot and no long term conclusions should be drawn. Amazon does use some sort of a weighted-average algorithm so they are more than just snapshots, but none-the-less, they should be treated as snapshots individually. Now if you string a few of them together, then you can perhaps start telling a story.
