Fuji S100fs and dynamic range

Another interesting discussion about the Fuji S100fs is under way in the Fuji dpreview forums, where the OP starts by talking about the dynamic range of the S100fs. The camera uses a 2/3" SuperCCD sensor, which is larger than all the current fixed-lens digital camera models, except of course for the Sigma DP-series.

Sharpening Fuji S100fs pictures

An interesting discussion in the dpreview Fuji forums is discussing sharpening Fuji S100fs pictures. Photoshop needed. You can also download the action the OP is using and try it for yourself!

The Fuji S100fs [reviews] is the Fuji giantsumer with an 11mp 2/3" SuperCCD sensor and a big lens to go with it that was announced in January 2008. The best price we found among the reputable retailers at the momnent is $500 at B&H Photo. As you may recall, it used to sell for around $450 at Amazon a few weeks ago, but apparently Amazon itself (not 3rd party sellers) has sold out - maybe temporarily, maybe for good - you can't really tell.

Digital Camera Review has assembled a a collage of user reviews posted on the Olympus SP570uz and organized them together in a new blog post. Unlike the new SP590 who does not have RAW, the SP570uz is a RAWsumer.

A quick reminder, because Olympus released the model numbers out of order. First came the SP570, then the SP565, and then the SP590!
